The Mas Maya Foam Float Trowel is a useful tool for anyone looking to achieve a polished, refined finish with Mas Maya Coating. Designed for the final stage of application, it’s the tool that transforms a textured surface into a tactile one, revealing the soft, natural depth that defines Mas Maya.
When the final layer of Mas Maya Coating is almost dry (around 15–20% humidity), the Foam Float Trowel should be placed flat against the material, which has been lightly misted with water, and moved gently in circular motions. This process redistributes the natural stones within the coating, bringing the finer particles to the surface and creating the foundation for a smooth, even finish.
If the Foam Float Trowel sticks to the surface or drags the material, the coating is still too wet — simply let it dry a little longer before continuing.
Once this stage is complete, use a Mas Maya Stainless Steel Rounded Trowel to compress the surface in long, sweeping strokes, using the cream created during floating to close the remaining pores and reveal the signature Mas Maya smoothness — organic, luminous, and soft to the touch.
