A Heritage of Lime Wash
Lime wash has been used for millennia, from the temples of ancient Egypt to the architecture of Rome, valued for its durability and subtle beauty.
Mas Maya is rooted in Conil de la Frontera, one of Andalusia’s iconic pueblos blancos, where bright white lime-washed walls—encaladas—reflect sunlight, cool interiors, and define a landscape of extraordinary light and history.
Our limestone is locally sourced from Andalusia, continuing a lime wash tradition
that is both practical and poetic, shaping walls with a timeless aesthetic that’s deeply embedded in ritual and culture.
The lime is traditionally heated in wood fire kilns. We blend the lime with our unique formula of plant extracts and minerals, giving excellent adhesion and coverage.
